On Memorial Day, we honor the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. We remember their selflessness, their bravery, and their love for the United States. We feel solemn and profound gratitude for their dedication to protecting freedom and securing a world with greater peace and safety for all.
Memorial Day also reminds us to note and appreciate the dedication of the members of our community who have served or continue to serve, including those among our students, alumni, faculty, staff, and the greater Ole Miss Family. These service members risk their lives for this great nation and its citizens. We are grateful for their courage and commitment.
To remember those who died in service to our nation, I hope you will participate in the National Moment of Remembrance, a minute of silence that is observed at 3 p.m. local time on Memorial Day. I hope the day also provides an opportunity to reflect on the many blessings we share as Americans, both historically and at present, and the sacrifice of those who gave everything in defense of our republic’s highest principles.
Sincerely,
Glenn F. Boyce
